All of us have heard the phrase that someday, we'll look back (at dreadful incidents) and laugh. Some "cherished" memories that seemed utrageous while happening are now laughable-though it may be too soon to laugh at a few. Here's some that do make me giggle.

I was relaxing on my back patio Tuesday evening, July 5, when a wall of sediment menacingly rolled in from the south. It was a massive onslaught of sand, a dust storm on steroids, referred to lovingly as an haboob.

We had a childhood riddle: What has eyes, but cannot see? Answer:  potato. My mom would say this anytime I couldn't find something that she could locate easily. After she'd find it, she'd say: "Who has eyes, but cannot see? Mary!"
